A Japanese bathroom usually has a toilet, but you may also want to consider a sink and/or shower. Western style toilets take up more space than a Japanese one, so it is recommended that the placement of the toilet is carefully considered. Also, it is common for a Japanese style toilet to have two sinks, one in the middle of the floor and one at the foot. Western styled showers are also popular in the Japanese bath market. Some people prefer the Japanese traditional look of a wall mounted shower, but most people opt for the more modern European or American-designed shower.
